Before he left, the Reaper shared a secret with Callie: she was pregnant again!
Although Callie was heartbroken by Lane’s death, this news cheered her up a little.
Lane received a place of pride in the Jones family cemetery.
Little Darlene was born a few days later. Clara did a lot of babysitting while Callie mourned her husband.
Unfortunately, the Grim Reaper would soon be coming for another Jones.
While Clara had absolutely no musical talent, Declan was a different story. Bianca spent hours giving him violin lessons – she wanted to leave behind a legacy in her final days.
Declan enjoyed other more casual activities too, like commanding pirate ships…
And avoiding the hobos dancing in the park…
It was fortunate that he enjoyed the park so much, as Declan wasn’t at home when his father, Lane, had a visit from the Grim Reaper. Callie was devastated. She had had so little time with Lane. Somehow she would have to compose herself before Declan came home.
With the additional income from Lane’s salary, the family was able to add onto the family estate, though quite a few of the new rooms were unfurnished at first!
The house expansion was just in time, as Callie discovered she was pregnant!
With a new member of the Jones family on the way, Bianca wondered if her brother was out there somewhere, watching over the family from beyond the grave.
Lane was delighted (and a bit nervous!) to hold his son, Declan Jones, in his arms for the first time.
It seemed like no time at all before Declan grew up into a geeky little child.
It wasn’t long after Callie’s wedding that Bianca moved into the final chapter of her own story. With her brother gone and her nieces all grown up, she tried to focus on her job playing in the local symphonic orchestra, but it wasn’t easy to ignore the fact that the Grim Reaper would probably be visiting her next.
With her sister happily married, it was clear Callie was the heir of the third generation of the Jones family. Clara felt she should contribute something to the Jones family name.
She worked around the house and honed her skills wherever she could.
As a loner and a geek, it didn’t seem likely that she would be able to complete her ‘friend of the world’ lifelong ambition.
Though she did make a couple of friends during her attempts.
Bianca even tried to give Clara violin lessons, but it was clear Clara just didn’t have an ear for music.
She wasn’t bad at gardening, but it seemed the only place that Clara really shined was at work. She was working her way up the secret agent career with impressive speed. At least there was one area where she was coming out ahead of her sister!
Although the entire Jones family was saddened by Bryant’s passing, Callie knew she would have wanted her to get married.
Clara was still upset about Bryant’s death, and wasn’t sure they should be going ahead with the wedding, but she turned up to support her sister anyway.
Bianca joined too, just in time for the end of the ceremony.
She made up for her tardiness by serving drinks at the reception.
Once the guests were gone, Callie and Lane got to work on generation four of the Jones family right away.
Lane Downing was now a member of the Jones household, in preparation for the upcoming wedding. Lane was gloomy, a genius and a geek, and although he aspired to be a master chef, he had not worked hard towards this goal in his youth, and he did not have much time left to work his way up the corporate ladder.
Callie and Lane’s wedding was rescheduled for the next day. Everything was just about ready; all that remained was for Bryant to return home from work so he could give his daughter away – and prepare a delicious feast, of course!
However, as soon as Bryant returned home from the restaurant where he worked, he knew something was wrong. Was his long and successful life about to come to an end?
Grim thought so. According to his records, Bryant’s time was up.
With everyone else still at work or busy preparing for the wedding, Lane was the only one at home, and he didn’t know Bryant well enough to plead with the Reaper. And so, the second generation heir of the Jones family passed on.
The death of one of their guests just before the ceremony really put a damper on Callie and Lane’s wedding.
Horrified and disappointed, the busyness of the day took its toll on the bride, and she found she just had to lie down and rest.
His business concluded (for now), Grim decided to enjoy the party he had crashed. The pianist was quite good.
The bridal couple decided to reschedule their wedding for another day. The remaining guests helped themselves to the delicious meal that Bryant had prepared – why waste good food just because some Sim had reached the end of their lifespan?
